Julia Castro is a 17-year-old Brazilian singer-songwriter whose music lives in the quiet space between confession and disappearance. Now based in California, completing her senior year at Idyllwild Arts Academy, she blends intimate Pop/R&B with dreamy textures, soft vocals, and the nostalgic warmth of Bossa Nova. Her writing explores emotional ghosting, self-erasure, the ache of growing up, and the quiet weight of things left unsaid. Introduced to 60s music by her father, Julia grew up listening to soul and jazz icons such as Aretha Franklin, Etta James, Whitney Houston, Frank Sinatra, Ella Fitzgerald, Nina Simone, and Amy Winehouse, artists whose emotional honesty became the foundation of her own connection to music. At thirteen, Julia brought jazz to national television with her performance of “At Last” by Etta James on The Voice Brazil. In 2024 Julia was awarded a full scholarship to Berklee’s Summer Program. While in Boston she was selected to perform her original song “Intertwined” during the Singer & Songwriting night at The Red Room. In 2026 Julia performed her original songs "Over You" and "You and I" at Clive Davis Theatre in los Angeles at the Grammy Museum Student Showcase. Julia will release her debut single, “You and I” in 2026, the first chapter of her upcoming EP, "If Silence Could Speak, What Would It Say?" officially marking the beginning of her music career.
